St. Andrew's College Admissions Requirements

Aurora, Ontario

Entry Requirements by Grade

St. Andrew's College accepts applicants for Grades 5 through 11. Day-student applications are accepted for Grades 5 through 9. The school does not accept applications for Grade 12 alone because it requires a two-year commitment. St. Andrew's does not currently designate specific grades as major entry years on its public admissions page.

Entry Level Entrance Test Other Requirements
Grades 5 to 8 CAT5 for applicants studying the Canadian curriculum, or SSAT accepted in its place School recommendation, report cards, candidate statement and interview for selected applicants
Grades 9 to 11 CAT5 for applicants studying the Canadian curriculum, or SSAT accepted in its place School recommendation, report cards, candidate statement and interview for selected applicants

Entrance Assessment

Applicants in Grades 5 through 11 who have studied the Canadian curriculum in Canada for at least one year complete the CAT5, the Canadian Achievement Test, at St. Andrew's. Remote testing can be arranged for applicants who are not located near the school.

St. Andrew's will accept SSAT results instead of the CAT5 when an applicant is applying to multiple schools. Most international applicants are required to complete the SSAT.

The school's public admissions page does not publish a separate St. Andrew's curriculum-specific entrance exam or detailed list of topics to prepare.

Admissions Process

Applicants complete an online application and submit:

Applicants then complete the required entrance test. Due to application volume, only candidates being considered for admission are invited to a formal interview.

Key Insights

St. Andrew's uses a standardized Canadian assessment rather than its own published math and literacy entrance test. Canadian-curriculum applicants normally complete the CAT5.

The SSAT is an accepted alternative. Applicants who are already taking the SSAT for other schools may submit those results instead of completing the CAT5.

The interview is selective. Completing an application and entrance test does not automatically result in an interview. Only candidates being considered for entry are invited.
